Milan
Italy
Milan is a modern industrial city, but its Duomo
(cathedral) remains to remind us of the middle
ages.  This is a gigantic gothic church of spires.
The Galleria shares the same plaza as the Duomo.  It is
a pioneering shopping mall featuring the use of glass.
The Milan Galleria has lost much of its original
elegance, and now includes fast food outlets.  Yet I
had fun photographing the glass ceilings and dome.
Looking like a modern art version of a spider's web, this is
the main glass dome of the Galleria.
Milan's Duomo is lit very effectively after dark.
